Rebecca Ann “Becky” Slagal, 70, of rural Lagro, Indiana, died at 12:42 am, Sunday, December 8, 2024, at her home. She was born on August 24, 1954, in Wabash, Indiana, to Paul Franklin and Elizabeth J. (White) Baker.
Becky married Charles A. “Chuck” Slagal on October 30, 1993 at the Lagro American Legion; he died October 15, 2018. She worked at General Tire in Wabash, retiring in 2004. Becky was a member of the Wabash Moose Lodge, Wabash Eagles Lodge, and the Lagro American Legion Post 248. She enjoyed horses and belonged to several Saddle Clubs, and also enjoyed shopping, and going to auctions and casinos.
She is survived by two children, Amanda (Greg) Goodpaster and Jeremy (Shelley) France, both of Lagro; 10 grandchildren, Steven Goodpaster, Charles Goodpaster, and Jareth Goodpaster, all of Lagro, Zack Rife of Wabash, Tina Mitchell of Marion, Indiana, Brandon France of Servia, Indiana, Brianna France and Bryce France, both of Wabash, Siarah (Seth) Davidson of Andrews, Indiana, and Dakota France of Lagro; 8 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Steven (Cindy) Baker of Lagro. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Joseph France.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Lagro Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm Thursday, at the funeral home.
