Rhonda Lea (Johnson) Etling, 66, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 10:16 am, Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born on April 3, 1958, in Neon, Kentucky, to Franklin D. Johnson and Anna Faye (Stidham) Johnson Powell.
Rhonda was a graduate of Wabash High School and received her Associates degree from Ivy Tech. She married Kevin Etling in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee on May 29, 2018. Rhonda was a hairdresser for 20 years, worked at GDX in Wabash, the Animal Shelter of Wabash County, and also was a care keeper for a group home. She was raised in the Free Will Baptist Church. Rhonda was a cancer fighter. She loved animals, especially her dog Gracie. She also was a corvette lover, and enjoyed reading, cooking, and shopping.
She is survived by husband, Kevin T. Etling of Wabash; three children, Ashley (Phil) Eakright, Brittany (James Ozenbaugh) Frazier, and Joshua Frazier, all of Wabash; five grandchildren, Chloe Raider, McKenzie Eakright, Gage Strickler, Avery Eakright, and Addison Eakright; and her mother and step father, Anna Faye (Pete) Powell of Wabash. She was preceded in death by her father, brother, Randy Johnson, and her sister, Robin Eckman.
Graveside services and burial will be private at LaFontaine I.O.O.F. Cemetery, with Rev. Tim Webb officiating. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
