Rita Faye Wells

Rita Faye Wells, 65, of Peru, Indiana, died at 1:20 pm, Friday, May 3, 2024, at her home.  She was born on March 3, 1959, in Paintsville, Kentucky, to Hansford and Alkie (Bowling) Fannin.

Rita was a 1977 graduate of Johnson Central High School in Paintsville, Kentucky. She married Charles "Chuck" Wells in Van Lear, Kentucky on August 10, 1976. She worked at Ford Meter Box and Wabash Magnetics. Rita was a member of the Wabash Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing and reading the Bible. Rita had a loving relationship with her family and God.  

She is survived by her husband, Chuck Wells of Peru; two daughters, Kimberlie (James) Daniel and April (Jeremy) Arrowood; both of Wabash; five grandchildren, Christian (Madison) Simpson of Peru, Zachary (Addison France) Simpson, Hunter Simpson, Paige Arrowood, and Brooklyn Arrowood, all of Wabash; great-granddaughter, Ember "Emmie Sue" Simpson of Peru; brothers and sisters, Rev. Manford (Kathy) Fannin of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Grover (Rhonda) Fannin of Marion, Indiana, Pearl Harris of West Van Lear, Kentucky, Brenda (Jim) Hamilton of Alabama, Linda (Gary) DeLong of Staffordsville, Kentucky, Maggie (Rick) Duty of Hammond, Kentucky, Elisha (Greg) Anderson of Fort Gay, West Virginia, and Barbara (Randy) Fairchild of Wabash.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Darvin Fannin, and two sisters, Shirlene Fannin and Ella Jean Butcher.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Wabash Free Will Baptist, 1056 Erie Street, Wabash, with Rev. Bill Crank and Jeremy Arrowood officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.  Friends may call 2-8 pm Monday, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, and 1 hour prior to the service Tuesday, at the church.

Preferred memorial is Wabash Free Will Baptist Church.
