Robert "Bob" L. Wease, 90, of Indianapolis, formerly of Marion, passed away at 5:39 am on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. He was born in Jonesboro, Indiana, on Thursday, December 7, 1933, to Leroy Oscar and Mary Irene (Hand) Wease.
Bob served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Guam. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant and was honorably discharged. Upon returning home from his military service in 1954, Bob met the love of his life, Betty Clevenger, and they married on February 17, 1956. Bob and Betty shared 65 years of marriage until Betty's passing on November 1, 2021. Bob had worked for one year at RCA. He completed his training in tool and die, and he worked in this field at General Motors in Marion for many years until his retirement. He was later called back to General Motors to serve as a consultant.
Bob had been a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Marion and later became a member of Temple Congregational Church. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and boating. He was a member of the Mississinewa Boat and Ski Club, as well as the Marion Elks Lodge. Betty was the love and focus of Bob's life, and he missed her dearly.
Survivors include his son, Robert D. (Jill Elaine) Wease of Indianapolis; daughter, Barbara Elaine (Brian) Hodge of Indianapolis; grandsons, Adam (Gladys) Hodge of Atlanta, GA, and Stuart (Jenn) Hodge of Langley, Canada; granddaughters, Kiley (Jacob) Radin of Indianapolis and Quinn Elaine (Malik Martin) Wease of Indianapolis; great-granddaughters, Margot Elaine Radin of Indianapolis and Ruby Ann Radin of Indianapolis; and countless nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty; parents; brothers, Leroy Oscar Wease, Jr., and Hugh Wease; and sisters, Shelia Berry, Juanita Elliott Bradford, and Leota Mook.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon on Monday, June 24, 2024, at VA Protestant Chapel, 1700 E. 38th St., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Bob's life will begin at 12:00 noon. Rev. David Faust will be officiating with burial taking place at Marion National Cemetery.
