Robert Lee Denton, 62, of rural Roann, Indiana, died at 4:54 pm, Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born on September 13, 1962, in St. Joseph, Michigan, to Wayne Austin and Betty Irene (Lewis) Denton.
Robert married Sandra Forst in Roann on June 30, 1995. He was a contractor, and thoroughly missed doing it once he became unable. Robert was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing guitar with his brother, Richard. Robert loved helping others, even at death he donated his corneas to help someone else.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Denton of Roann, two children; Racheal (Derek) Davey of Buchanan, Michigan, Chris McKie of Benton Harbor, Michigan; step son Jeremy Denton of Fort Wayne, Indiana, six grandchildren, brothers and sisters; Joyce (Nils) Stohl of Florissant, Colorado, Bill (Maria) Denton of Owensville, Kentucky, Dwight (Susie) Denton of Roann, Richard (Janet) Denton of Michigan City, Indiana, Patty (Ricky) Rabideau of Mooers Forks, New York, and August (Albert) Denton of Long Beach, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, John Denton, step son, Joshua Denton, and brother, Wayne Denton, Jr.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, February 21, 2025, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service – Roann, 335 S. Chippewa Rd., Roann, with Pastor Matt Myers officiating. Burial will be in Gaerte Cemetery, Macy. Friends may call 1:00 – 2:00 pm, Friday, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
