Rocky Casen Lee Shepherd, born on August 17, 2007, in Fort Wayne, to Robert Gahl and Valarie Shepherd, passed away from a tragic accident on June 27, 2024, at the young age of 16 in North Manchester. A beloved son, brother, and friend, Rocky’s departure leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew him.
Despite his young age, Rocky was a compassionate soul who always put others before himself, especially his family and friends. This fall Rocky would have started his junior year in high school and had dreams of serving in the United States Army. He cherished spending time with his loved ones, riding his mini bike, and simply enjoying the company of those he held dear.
Rocky leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be forever cherished by mother and step-father, Valarie (Shepherd) and Ryan Robison, North Manchester; step-mother, Patrisha “Trisha” Cornett, Urbana; paternal grandpa, Rodney Gahl; maternal grandma, Diana (Hackworth) Shepherd; step-grandparents, Bob and Jo Lynn Robison; brothers, Kaileb Gahl, Sebastian Hawk, and Dominick Cripe; sisters, Destiny Shepherd, Jaci Gahl, and Ashton Gahl; step-brother, Carter Robison; step-sister, Misha Robison; and numerous aunts and uncles. Rocky was preceded in death by his father, Robert Michael Gahl; grandpa, Klink Shepherd; grandma, Linda (Holloman) Templeton; and uncle, Rocky Shepherd.
A celebration to honor the memory and legacy of Rocky Casen Lee Shepherd will be held at a later date at The Firehouse, 108 West Main Street, North Manchester, Indiana, with Pastor Sebrena Cline and Tyler Walker will officiate.
The family of Rocky Casen Lee Shepherd has entrusted McKee Mortuary with care and final arrangements.
