Ruth Miller, 90, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 6:55 am, Sunday, March 23, 2025, at her granddaughter’s home in Marion, Indiana. She was born on September 27, 1934, in Pike County, Indiana, to Andrew Sampson and Mary Jane (Nolan) Corn.
Ruth attended Winslow High School. She married Forrest Lee Miller in Oakland City, Indiana on April 4, 1950; he died May 20 2012. Ruth retired from Sharp Creek Elementary where she worked as a cook, and also co-owned Wabash Valley Moving and Storage. She was an active member of the Dora Christian Church, the Dora Ladies Aid, and was the church treasurer for 14 years. Ruth enjoyed reading, shopping, knitting, gardening, working in the yard, and going to the movies, but especially loved her family.
She is survived by three children; Rick (Susan) Miller of Lagro, Indiana, Randall L. Miller and Debbie (Brad) Frieden, both of Wabash, nine grandchildren; Rebecca Homan, Jennifer (Jared) Cooper, Christina (Ed) Homan Church, Cynthia (Mark) Reed, Johnny Lee Miller, Lena Rose (Sean) Utley, Michael (Nicola) Armour-Frieden, Andrew (Jehnay) Wright-Frieden, and Sarah (Derrik) Needler, 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Vicki Howell, two brothers, Wallace Corn and Darrell Corn, and her sister, Virginia Young.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Mark Wisniewski, Minister officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 9:30 – 11:00 am, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
