Ruth Rodriguez

Ruth Rodriguez, 99, formerly of North Manchester went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
Ruth (Toro) was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 15, 1924, to Ramon Luis Toro and Felicita Olivera-Batiz Toro. She married Anthony Rodriguez and together they had two children, Ruth Elizabeth Spring and David Paul Rodriguez.
Grandma Ruth was the matriarch of our family. She was both sweet and sassy with a tender, loving heart. Grandma loved the Lord with all her heart, and she would openly tell people how much God had blessed her. She was known for her deep love and affection toward her family and friends. Grandma had a contagious laugh and smile and made friends wherever see went. One of our favorite things about her was she could laugh through any situation, whether that was a moth getting stuck in her ear or being in the hospital not knowing what the outcome would be. There was always laughter.
She was known for making thoughtful, handmade (personalized) gifts for people. Grandma Ruth was gifted in a variety of areas, some of which included playing the piano in church, cross-stitching, crocheting, and cooking/baking. She was known for her famous pistachio cream puffs.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Ramon Luis Toro and Felicita Olivera-Batiz Toro; four brothers: Gusatvo Mas, Raymond Louis Toro, David Ray Toro, and Anthony Torres; and her son David Paul Rodriguez.
She is survived by her beloved, younger, sister Dorothy Brown; her daughter, Ruth Spring; her daughter-in-law Christine (Ward) Rodriguez; her grandchildren; Angi (Jeremiah) Wilson, Carrie (Matthew) Haren, Jenelle (Brian) Scanlon, John Spring, Jeanne (Mathew) Beery, and Mandy Walker. She also had thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Manchester Bible Church, 11721 North 300 East, North Manchester, IN 46962.
For those who wish to honor the memory of Ruth Rodriguez, memorial contributions may be made to Manchester Bible Church, 11721 North 300 East, North Manchester, Indiana 46962.
We already greatly miss Grandma Ruth, but are comforted that we don’t mourn like those without hope.
“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
