Shirley Elaine Moore, 87, of Somerset, Indiana, died at 10:46 am, Friday, December 20, 2024, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on June 16, 1937, in Wabash, Indiana, to John Merrill and Grace (Duffy) Pegg.
Shirley married Marion Edward Moore on October 21, 1955 in Wabash; he died July 28, 2013. She retired from Spiece after more than 40 years, Papa Joes for several years, and also Quality Electric all of Wabash. Shirley was a former member of Calvary Chapel Worship Center in Wabash and was a prayer warrior. She enjoyed cleaning, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by three children; Marion E. (Jolene) Moore, Jr. of Peru, Indiana, Tamara Lorene (Mike) Ruse of Somerset, and Michael Dean Moore of Wabash, nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two great-great-granddaughters, two sisters, Phyllis Lorene McClutcheon of Michigan, Sylvia Marie Flexer of Illinois, and two brothers, Merrill Dean Pegg of Florida, and Leslie Pegg of Michigan. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Louis Pegg, and sister, Alice Pegg.
Funeral services will be 12:00 pm, Monday, December 30, 2024, at Remnant Church, 1463 Middle Street, Wabash, with Mike Moore officiating. Entombment will be in Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum, Wabash. Friends may call 10:00 – 12:00 pm, Monday, at the church. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
