Stephanie Dawn Brown Metz, 52, of Rusk, Texas, died at 8:57 pm, Friday, April 4, 2025, at the CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas. She was born on January 2, 1973, in Wabash, Indiana, to Michael and Dawn (Thompson) Brown.
Stephanie was a 1991 Southwood High School graduate. She married Todd Metz in Jacksonville, Texas on September 24, 2019. Stephanie was a homemaker, and also had worked at Gencorp, Wal-Mart, and Manchester College. Stephanie loved living in Texas, and watching the sunsets. She also enjoyed nature, camping, cooking, playing cards and games, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Todd Metz of Rusk, Texas; daughter, Destiny (Jason) Mullins of Maryland; mother, Dawn Brown of Wabash; grandchildren, Amelia Mullins and Jack Mullins; step-children, Kaleb (Melissa) Metz, Gaberiel Metz, Connor Metz, Colton Metz, and Bridgette Metz, all of Wabash; step-grandchildren, Alea Brown, Mattie Brown, and Athena Metz; sisters, Terri Brown and Kelly (John) Ply, both of Wabash; nephew, Brayton (Mauiya) Brown of Peru; great-niece, Ellie Brown; mother-in-law Rebecca Metz of Wabash; lifelong family friend, Lennie Worrel of Wabash; and her fur-babies, Kiwi, Rocko, and Max. She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Brown, and her daughter, Micaela Brown.
There will be a Celebration of Stephanie’s life at a later date. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
