Steve K. Peebles, 75, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 11:56 am, Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at his home. He was born on December 1, 1948, in Wabash, to John B. and Maxine (Ridgeway) Peebles.
Steve was a 1967 graduate of Southwood High School and received his bachelor degree from Purdue University in 1971. He married Jane Guenin at the LaFontaine Christian Church on January 24, 1970. Steve owned and operated Peebles Realty in Wabash, co-owned the Wabash Mortgage Company, was a banker, and a farmer. Steve served in the Army reserves. He was a member of Bachelor Creek Church of Christ. He enjoyed watching Purdue Basketball, Southwood sports, and anything his grandkids were involved in.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Peebles of Wabash; two children, Alissa Deeter of Wabash, and Derek (Kasey) Peebles of Peru, Indiana; six grandchildren, Christian Deeter, Payton (Carly) Deeter, Ryan Deeter, and Riley Wise, all of Wabash, Holly (Dylan) Hopper of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Lily Peebles of Peru. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ronnie Peebles and Dave Fulkerson; and his son-in-law, Mark Deeter.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Monday, November 25, 2024, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Tyler Leland officiating. Burial will be in Mississinewa Cemetery, Somerset, Indiana. Friends may call 2-6 pm Sunday, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are Bachelor Creek Church of Christ or Wabash Little League.
