Steven D. Williams laid his burdens down and transcended on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, at 10:59 pm. He was born on November 13, 1961, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late Jesse Williams, Jr., and Kathy Barren. Steven married the love of his life, Teresa “Lovey” Smith, on August 26, 2002.
Steven grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Marion, Indiana. He attended Greater Second Baptist and St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Steven worked with the family business, A&J Asphalt, for 25+ years. He worked in many positions including concrete finisher to machine operator.
Steven was an avid football fan and enjoyed watching all the games; however, the Colts and Green Bay Packers were hands down his favorite teams. His hobbies were riding his motorbike, shooting pool, and keeping his Mercedes shiny clean. He loved spending time with his family, traveling, and taking memorable trips.
Steven was loved by many and will be deeply missed by friends and family. Survivors include his wife, Teresa “Lovey” Williams, of 22 years; son (only biological child), Dewayne (Larissa) Williams; step-sons, Demetrius (Letticia) Sanders, Danny Smith, and Dantay Smith; a host of grandchildren; mother, Kathy Barren; step-mother, Annie Williams; siblings, Robert Williams of Wisconsin, Teresa Hill of California, Lashonda (Florentino) of Michigan, Thomas Williams of Wisconsin, and Tiffany Williams of Indiana; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; mother-in-law, Edith Walker; father-in-law, Cliffton (Barbara) Walker; brothers-in-law, Cornell Walker and Derrick Moore; and sisters-in-law, DeAnna Malcolm and Katasha Sanders.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Williams, Jr.
The viewing of Steven D. Williams will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1204 W. 14th St., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the viewing, Steven's celebration of life, officiated by Pastor C.L. Adams, will begin at 12:00 noon.
Mr. Steven D. Williams’ repass will be held at Faulkner Center, 1221 W. 12th St. (across the field from the church).
