Terry Speicher, age 75 of Marion, Indiana passed away with his family by his side. He was born July 8, 1949 in Marion, Indiana to the late Jack and Bonita (Pinkerton) Speicher. Terry graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1967 and Purdue University in 1971. He worked as a building contractor for the past 55 years as owner of Speicher Contracting. Retirement was not in his vocabulary.
He had a deep love for his family and enjoyed spending time with them. His children and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He especially relished working with his hands alongside his son for the past 25 years. Terry spent 20 years coaching baseball and playing fast pitch softball. A second dad to many, he always welcomed people to his home, lended a helping hand, and poured into their lives. The number of people who call him Coach or Pop Speicher is too many to count.
Terry enjoyed traveling to Montana with Joan where they visited family, went four-wheeling, fishing, hiking and working on to-do lists. Terry loved watching Purdue sports, especially basketball, and would never pass up an opportunity to listen to live music or watch music videos.
He liked to keep things simple and light; reminding others not to worry and that everything would be okay. He was never absent from telling a funny joke and had quite a sense of humor. He always took care of his family, and his kindness and legacy will continue through his children, grandchildren and all whose lives he touched.
Terry is survived by his partner, Joan Butche of Marion; children, Matthew (Kelly) Speicher of Marion, Jill (Shane) Gibson of Amboy, Laura Speicher of Lafayette; grandchildren, Pathie and Brylie Speicher, Joseph Gibson, Brennan (Jaylie) Butche, Alexei Butche; sister, Vicki (Ron) Owings; brother, Jeff (Jenna) Speicher; mother of his children, Kathie Speicher; several nieces and nephews; a great-nephew and great-granddaughter; special family, Chris (Kayla) Butche, Todd Butche and Holly Arnold.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Bonita (Pinkerton) Speicher and sister-in-law, Lisa Speicher.
