Thomas “Arlie” Monroe

Thomas “Arlie” Monroe, 86, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 7:12 pm, Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Autumn Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Wabash.  He was born on April 26, 1938, in Dizney, Kentucky, to Roy Sr. and Ludie (Madden) Monroe.

Arlie worked at Dana Corporation in Andrews, Indiana retiring in 2003 after 42 years. He was affiliated with Christian Heritage Church in Wabash, and also attended church with his son Perry.

He is survived by his two sons, Perry Monroe of Huntington, Indiana, and Tommie Monroe, three grandchildren; Avorie Monroe, Adreonna Monroe, and Izayha Monroe, all of Ohio, five sisters; Virginia Mary Ruth (Bruce) Whiteneck of Warsaw, Indiana, Bernice Ballew and Louise Lawshe, both of Orlando, Florida, Barbara (Tim) Prater of Wabash, and Clarissa (Charlie) Poe of Seattle, Washington, six brothers; Hershel (Eileen) Monroe of Andrews, Don Monroe of Wabash, Roy Monroe Jr. of Peru, Indiana, Orville (Liz) Monroe of Wabash, Jerry (Susie) Monroe of Leesburg, Indiana, and Larry (Connie) Monroe of Wabash.  He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Alene Monroe, Josephine Harms, and Viola Gilbert.

Memorial services will be at Christian Heritage Church, 2776 River Road, Wabash, Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11:00 am with Pastor Tim Prater officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 – 11:00 am at the church. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, Indiana.
