Thomas Joe Canten, 74, of Marion, passed away at 7:19 am on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Marion. He was born in South Bend, Indiana, on Wednesday, August 30, 1950, to Robert Canten and Rosemary (Campbell) Parker. He married Belinda Mann on March 23, 1974, and she survives.
Thomas graduated from Marion High School and worked for the Gene Glick Company (Cambridge Square Apartments) for 30 years. He also owned Canten Floral Co. from 1996-2011.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Belinda; daughters, Nicole (David) Harris and Monica (Shane Caudill) Berryman; grandchildren, Kayetlin (Andrew Rabbit) Shady, Brittany (Kenzie) Wright, Magdellain (Jimmy) O’Connell, Gabrielle (Ryan Scott) Wright, Michaela Berryman, Christian Caudill, and Zoey Caudill; great-granddaughter, Saylor Mae Scott; brother, Robert (Jeanette) Canten; sisters-in-law, Patty Canten, Vicky Mann, and Tam (Brian) Johnson; brothers-in-law, Jack Colburn and Tim (Deb) Mann; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Canten; sister, Sharon Colburn; and sons-in-law, Jay Shady and Chad Berryman.
There will be no public visitation or funeral service.
