Thomas M. Greenfield, 64, of Gas City, passed away at 4:38 pm on Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Gas City. He was born in Redwood City, California, on Thursday, July 28, 1960, to Lloyd and Eva Marie (Knapp) Greenfield. On August 15, 2021, he married Mary L. Vavricka, who survives.
He graduated from Sequoia High School and went on to have a fulfilling career as a Casino Technician, working in various casinos across the country. Tom was recognized multiple times as Employee of the Month for his dedication and hard work. Tom was particularly proud of his time at the Atari factory.
A die-hard fan of the San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco 49ers, Tom’s passion for sports was well-known among his friends and family. He also had a deep love for his cats, Lily, Foster, and Miss Piggy, who brought him immense joy.
Tom’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him. His commitment to his work, his love for his teams, and his affection for his pets will always be remembered.
Tom is survived by wife, Mary L Greenfield of Gas City; step-daughters, Kassandra (Gary) Smith of Marion and Albina (Brenden) Barker of Kokomo; step-sons, Nicholas (Randi) Lieberman of Galveston and Mathew Greenfield of Ion, CA; son, Zachary Greenfield of St. Clairsville, OH; grandchildren, Lea Smith and Noah Smith; and brother, Ronald Greenfield.
He was preceded in death by parents, Lloyd Greenfield and Eva Marie Greenfield; and daughter, Krista Greenfield.
Family would like to give a big thank-you to Heart to Heart Hospice, especially, Donna, Courtney and Taylor for their compassionate care.
At Tom's request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
