Vonita Louise Parker passed away at 7:48am on May 11, 2024 in her home surrounded by family after battling an illness.
Vonita was born in Kokomo, Indiana on June 19, 1943 to Von Brown and Lula (Walls) Berry. She married Charles Bruce Parker, Sr. on November 4, 1960.
Vonita was a full-time homemaker and caretaker. She was an Honorary member of the Literary Aid Society, Member of the Eagles, and Lifetime Member of the VFW.
She loved music, dancing, doing puzzles, and working on puzzle books. Other things she enjoyed was spending time with her friends and family. Vonita was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, companion, and friend. Vonita was a good-hearted person always helping others and putting others and their needs first.
Vonita was preceded in death by her husband Charles Bruce Parker, Sr. of Peru, her son Charles Bruce Parker, Jr. of Peru, both parents, her brother Von “Sonny” Brown of Oklahoma and sisters Sharon “Sue” Willis of Galveston and Margaret Yard of Kokomo.
She is survived by two daughters Linda Kay Parker(Mike), Bonnie Lou Gardineer (George), grandchildren Amie Roberts(Stephen), Rebecca Gardineer, Candace Figueroa(Juan), George Gardineer, Sean McAdams, Charles McAdams,(Sharaya), and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Per Vonita’s wishes there will be a one hour viewing at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, Peru, prior to graveside memorial service and burial at Ever-Rest Cemetery, Logansport.
Friends may call from 9am to 10am on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru. Following will be a graveside service at 11am at Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel.
