Wabash City Police Department Announces Several Promotions

WABASH, IN- The Wabash Police Department announces several promotions:

· Colin Gouveia: Promoted to Captain. Gouveia joined the Wabash Police Department on October 31, 2016. He has served as Second Shift Sergeant, Wabash County Emergency Response Team member, Training Instructor, and WPD Operation Pull Over Coordinator. Cpt. Gouveia will now serve as the Captain of Third Shift.

· Gareth Monroe: Officially sworn in as a Sergeant. Monroe joined the department on January 1, 2021. He will continue as the second shift Sergeant.

· Kody Case: Officially sworn in as a Sergeant. Case joined the department on April 10, 2016. He will continue as the third shift Sergeant.

· Drew Bender: Detective. Bender joined the department on September 6, 2016, and has previously served as Sergeant of Third Shift, K-9 handler, and Training Instructor. Det. Bender will now work alongside experienced detectives.

· Payton Ensor: Officially sworn in as a probationary patrolman. Ensor was hired on January 6, 2025, and will soon begin the Field Training Program, attending the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy during his first year.

The Wabash City Police Department is excited to see these officers in their new roles and encourages everyone to join in congratulating them on their achievements.

· Cpt. Gouveia, K138: Graduate of ILEA Class 211.

· Sgt. Monroe, K143: Graduate of ILEA Class 225.

· Sgt. Case, K134: Graduate of ILEA Class 210.

· Det. Bender, K137: Graduate of ILEA Class 206.

· Probationary Patrolman Ensor, K155.
