Wabash County Museum announces winter activities including Jones Day at the Museum

WABASH, IN- Winter fun has taken over the Wabash County Museum this year with family friendly activities, beautiful holiday decor, and, of course, more than 100 exhibits to enjoy!

The entire 20,000 square feet of the Museum is decorated with beautiful Christmas trees and
holiday decorations. Several “photo stops” are set up throughout the building, to allow guests
to capture seasonal memories. In November, the WCM Reindeer Barn debuted in Wabash after
spending the past decade at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum. This free experience lets
young visitors brush and feed the full-sized (stuffed) reindeer.

Returning this year is the Museum’s indoor sock skating rink for children ages 2- 12 with the
addition of the Polar Slide that allows kids to slide and glide during their visit. The rink,
sponsored by Jones Contracting, Inc. will be open during all open hours through Fri, January
5th. Skating costs $5 for members and $8 for non-members, giving guests full access to the
Museum including The Den by Beacon, and unlimited skating!

“This year, the sock skating rink has a new location in the Museum that allows us to include a
polar slide for kids to enjoy! Decorated with penguins and polar bears, we believe this is a truly
unique experience to the area,” shares Teresa Galley, executive director.

On Friday, December 29th, youth ages 2- 12 can slide, skate, and enjoy the Museum for free
thanks to support from Jones Contracting, Inc. Admission for non-skaters will also be free
thanks to Jones. Museum engagement specialist Trent McDonald states, “Jones Day at the
Museum is a great opportunity to enjoy all of the amazing holiday activities during winter
break.“

Save the date to check out all of the holiday fun at the Wabash County Museum between now
and January 5th. The Museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm through the
end of the year. Daily admission is $4 for kids 2- 11 and seniors, $6 for ages 12+, and free every
day to Veterans and active duty service members. The Museum will be closed for the holidays
on December 23- 25 and December 30- January 1st.
