ANDREWS, IN- Sept. 28 is National Public Lands Day, typically the largest volunteer day across the nation. Upper Wabash Invasives Network (UWIN) will be holding a Weed Wrangle at Salamonie Lake from 10 a.m. - noon and encourage volunteers to participate.
Meet at 10 a.m. at Salamonie Lake’s interpretive / nature center located in Lost Bridge West SRA.
Participants will learn invasive plant ID and be taught proper removal techniques. Take this opportunity to talk to UWIN experts about landscaping your own space with native plants and trees. Enjoy volunteering on a regular basis? Consider joining UWIN.
We recommend long sleeves, close-toed shoes, wide brimmed hat, sunscreen, and bug spray.
If you have tools, bring them (no chainsaws, please).
