City of Wabash Announces An Evening with the Mayor

Wabash, IN, February 1, 2019 – The City of Wabash is pleased to announce the commencement of quarterly public meetings with Mayor Scott Long and are organized as An Evening with the Mayor. The first meeting will be held at the Wabash County Historical Museum, on Thursday, February 21 at 6:00 p.m.

“I have wanted to host a town hall-type of meeting since I took office,” said Mayor Long. “With assistance from my staff and their efforts, I now have the resources to begin hosting these casual meetings. I believe that it is important to give citizens an informal setting to listen, learn, and ask questions,” said Mayor Long.

The topics outlined for the February meeting include a status update on current and future projects, infrastructure projects, and the future vision for Wabash. Mayor Long will be asking for residents’ input on what they suggest the city needs. The Evening with the Mayor will provide the opportunity for all residents to ask questions and have an open dialogue with the Mayor.

Keith Gillenwater, CEO for Grow Wabash County, will address attendees on the economy of Wabash.

“I’m thrilled to be the first guest speaker during the inaugural Evening with the Mayor series,” said Gillenwater. “I look forward to sharing with Mayor Long and the citizens of Wabash about all of the great economic and community development projects happening in our community.”

Wabash City Council President Eric Schoening will serve as the emcee for the evening. Future dates and topics for the Evening with the Mayor series will be posted on the City of Wabash’s website.
