MCS Superintendent Addresses Corona Virus School Shut Downs

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – As of early this afternoon, Governor Holcomb has ordered all schools to shut down through May 1st. The State Department will re-evaluate the situation as time progresses to decide if further closers are necessary. All State assessments have been cancelled and will not take place even if schools will be allowed to resume in May. Learning, not testing, will be the focus upon the possible return. Meal distribution will continue during this time in the designated drop off locations. Please practice responsible civil liberties to care for the health and safety of our citizens by staying home and practicing social distancing. Stay tuned for future updates regarding eLearning as our administrators and teachers work through the details necessary to continue learning during the shutdown.

Thank you to all the community and school personnel that have stepped up to ensure the well-being of our students is a top priority. MCS is forever grateful for your kindness and generosity as we move through these difficult times.

Teresa L. Gremaux – MCS Superintendent
