Robert E. “Fuzzy” Timmons, 83, Marion, passed away at 8 a.m. on New Year’s Day at Marion Health and Rehab. A lifelong resident of Marion, Fuzzy was born on September 30, 1935, to Virgil and Leona (Coffelt) Timmons. He married Sandra A. Wimmer on December 19, 1954, and they shared nearly 60 years together before she died in 2013.
Fuzzy attended Marion High School and worked in the printing room at The Chronicle-Tribune before his employment as a millwright at RCA. He also was a volunteer firefighter with Center Township Fire Department from 1969-1977. He was a sports enthusiast, especially active in bowling, golfing, fishing, and hunting. He loved going to auctions and casinos, as well as playing cards and traveling in his retirement years.
He will be missed by his daughter, Marjorie (George) Walker, Palmyra; son, Chris (Kim Howell) Timmons, Marion; grandchildren, Richard (Sarah) Ferguson, Jennifer Ferguson, Beth (Ron) Wilcox, Christina (Ben) Davidson, Jenaca Howell, Robbie (Meredith) Howell, and Dustin Anderson; 9 great-grandchildren, Sydney Rogers, Thatcher Ferguson, Brandon Ferguson, Madison Wilcox, Abigail Wilcox, Alex Wilcox, Ezra Davidson, Elijah Davidson, and Masyn Howell; brother, Beryl (Chizuko) Evans; and step-sister, Joann Emerick.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Timmons and Ronald Evans; sister, Louise Gause; and step-sister, Vicky Caudill.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
A funeral service to celebrate Fuzzy’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at the funeral home with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory.
