Elementary students attend “Tubby the Tuba” at Honeywell Center

WABASH, IN– In May, nearly 1,000 elementary students from Wabash, Kosciusko, and Fulton counties attended “Tubby the Tuba” in the Ford Theater at the Honeywell Center as the culminating lesson of Honeywell Arts In Education’s first- through third-grade Arts Integration residencies.

Students experienced a performance by the Manchester Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Debra Lynn, alongside Honeywell Arts Integration teaching artist Emily France and special guest performer Brock Ireland. The performance brought classroom learning to life through music, creativity, and imagination, reinforcing concepts explored throughout months of Arts Integration learning.

An offering of Honeywell Arts & Entertainment, Honeywell Arts In Education is a collection of programs created for educators to reap developmental benefits in the classroom. The program provides more than 73,000 student interactions across 14 counties and 86 schools in Indiana annually and is offered at little or no cost to the schools. These programs are made possible by generous supporters of Honeywell Arts & Entertainment, a nonprofit charity dedicated to providing arts, education, and entertainment for all.
