Shelby Jean Harris, 84, of rural Lagro, Indiana, died at 6:28 pm, on Monday, June 8, 2026, at her home. She was born on September 24, 1941, in Paintsville, Kentucky, to George and Fannie (Hyden) Honeycutt.
Shelby married Emil Ray Harris on June 25, 1961, in Wabash, Indiana and they have shared nearly 65 years together. Shelby worked for Wagner’s in Wabash. She was a member of Wabash Freewill Baptist Church on Erie Street. Shelby enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart on television, but above all, she loved her son and her grandkids.
She is survived by her husband, Emil Ray Harris; her son, Joe (Amanda) Harris of Lagro, and two grandchildren, Jeremy (Alex) Harris of Urbana, Indiana, and Tiffany (Jamison) Taylor of Lagro. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Sue Bowling and Georgie Honeycutt.
Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery. There will be no services. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash.
