INDIANAPOLIS- Throughout the summer and fall, lawmakers serve on study committees to examine issues facing Indiana communities. These bipartisan committees review important policy topics, gather public input and develop recommendations that may help shape legislation during the 2027 legislative session.
This year’s committees will examine a wide range of issues including public safety, transportation, education, healthcare, agriculture and government services.
During this process, lawmakers hear from Hoosiers, experts and stakeholders while reviewing research and discussing potential solutions. Committee meetings are open to the public, and Hoosiers are encouraged to attend, watch livestreams and share feedback on the issues being considered.
