GRISSOM, IN- Grissom Fire Department proudly announces the recent promotion of Captain William Ralstin, to the position of Assistant Chief of Training.
The responsibilities of this position include ensuring high quality fire department training is scheduled and conducted, certifications are maintained, providing training opportunities with our mutual aid partners, assisting department members in finding and attending external training classes, all while ensuring all department training is conducted according to local, state and federal standards.
Starting in the fire service in 2002, Chief Ralstin served in the Air Force as a firefighter, followed by getting hired on at Grissom Fire in 2006. Chief Ralstin has worked through his career to gain IFSAC certifications of Fire Instructor 3, Officer 3 and Inspector 3, ISO, HSO and Rescue Technician as well as an Associates degree in paramedic science.
Chief Ralstin is supported in this position by his wife of 19 years and his 5 kids.
