Dr. Ronald Martin Frischman of rural Huntington, Indiana was called home to his eternal rest on September 2, 2026. Ron was born on May 21, 1933 in Medford, Wisconsin to Martin and Blanche (Hoffman) Frischman. After graduating from Medford High School, he attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he pursued pre-medical studies. He then ventured to Indianapolis, Indiana to attend Lincoln Chiropractic College where he earned a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) Degree.
While attending Lincoln, Ron met Barbara Ping, the sister of one of his classmates. The two were married on July 9, 1955. They relocated to Wabash, Indiana where Ron established his chiropractic practice. This year, his practice celebrated its 70th anniversary: marking seven decades of caring and serving the people of the Wabash community. Ron and Barb were blessed with five children and shared 42 years of marriage until her passing.
Later in life, Ron met Judith (Darby) Vanderspool, a widow, who became his wife and companion. Ron and Judy celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on July 4th of this year. Together, they shared many wonderful years and enjoyed spending their winters in Estero, Florida.
Ron’s faith was an integral part of his life. He attended Zion Lutheran Church, was a charter member of both Trinity Lutheran and Living Faith Lutheran Churches, as well as an organist his entire life. He served as an elder, Church Council President, taught Sunday School, and was on the ministry team. He and Judy worshiped at Lamb of God Church in Fort Myers during the winter months. His love of God and music was evident throughout his life.
Ron believed strongly in giving back to every community he was a part of through volunteering and serving others. He was honored to be the President of the Indiana State Chiropractic Association, and served on the Wabash City Council, Falls Cemetery Board, Kiwanis Club, FISH Board, the Huntington Council on Aging, and the Riverwoods Recreation Committee in Florida. Ron was also a member of the Gideons, and he and Judy enjoyed volunteering as ushers at the Honeywell Ford Theatre in Wabash.
Ron lived a life deeply rooted in faith and service to others. He embodied the message of 1 Peter 4:10: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace.” Through his chiropractic practice, his music, his church, his volunteer service, and most importantly, his relationships with family and friends, Ron gave generously of himself. His steady faith, kind heart, quick wit, and willingness to serve left an impression on countless people throughout his long and meaningful life. While his family and friends will deeply miss him, they take comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on. His earthly journey is complete, but the love he gave and the example he set will continue for generations to come.
Ron is survived by his wife, Judy, his children, Mark (Paula Cook) Frischman of Peru, Dr. David (Cyndi) Frischman, Pam (Brian) Campbell, and Amy Glendenning, all of Wabash, and Brian (Kristie) Frischman of Huntington; his grandchildren, Jessica King of North Manchester, Andrew (Tianna) Frischman of Peru, Travis (Kayla) Frischman of Kokomo, Lauren Frischman of Huntington, and Michael Glendenning of Madison, Wisconsin; and six great grandchildren; step children Jeanette Jena (Dave) Snyder, Michael (Allison) Vanderspool, and Amy Kenseth; seven step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren. Also surviving is his sister, Nancy (Norm) Hatlestad of Lake Holcombe, Wisconsin.
