
Wilma Jane Miltonberger, 98, of North Manchester, Indiana, died at 5:08 p.m., on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester, Indiana. She was born on April 29, 1928, in Wabash, to William Ralph “Pete” and Minnie (Tholke) Petry.
Wilma was a 1946 graduate of Wabash High School and attended Ball State University and Purdue University. She first married Lawrence Jamerson in Hartford City, Indiana in 1946; he preceded her in death. She later married Robert Miltonberger in Anderson, Indiana in 1963; he died November 1993. Wilma worked as a purchasing agent for Honeywell/Markhon for 25 years, and also retired from Wabash Electric after 10 years. She attended the Wabash Friends Church, and belonged to the National Purchasing Association. Wilma enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by five children, Cheryl (James) Downs of Rochester, Indiana, Larry (Nancy) Jamerson of North Manchester, Nancy Swartz of Hardy,Virginia, Greg Jamerson of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Brian (Sharon) Miltonberger of Roann, Indiana; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and her sister Beverly French-Kidd. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Charles “Chuck” Jamerson.
Funeral services will be 2pm Friday, July 10, 2026, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash. Burial will be in Mississinewa Cemetery, Somerset, Indiana. Friends may call 4-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
