Robert E. “Lee” Reed

Robert E. “Lee” Reed, 66, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 6:29 am, Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at his brother’s home in Wabash. He was born on November 22, 1959, in Wabash, to Johnny Melvin and Betty Frances (Walters) Reed.

Music was always close to Robert’s heart-he enjoyed singing and filling quiet moments with the songs he knew by memory. He loved watching Seinfeld and Andy Griffith, shows that matched his easygoing humor and appreciation for timeless stories. Whether he was riding his 3‑wheeler or gathered with his family, Robert carried a spirit of fun and warmth that made every moment feel lighter. Above all, he treasured time with his family and his grandchildren, who were the center of his world and the source of his greatest pride.

He is survived by two sons, Brandon (Bridget) Reed of Galveston, Indiana and Stephen (Lindsey) Reed of Kokomo, Indiana; six grandchildren, Brynlee Reed, Brayson Reed, Brielle Reed, Addison Reed, Maylenn Reed, and Callen Reed; siblings, John (Liz) Reed, Jr. and Joyce (Jessie) Monroe, both of Wabash, Donna (Phil Brown) Rice of Warsaw, Indiana, Frankie Reed and Josh Reed, both of Wabash, and his brother-in-law, Mike Shoemaker of Wabash; three nieces; Angela Shoemaker of Andrews, Indiana, Ammie Harris of Warsaw, and Jennifer (Alex) Castro of Huntington, Indiana; nephew, Jamie Harris of Warsaw, great niece, MaKayla Landis of Huntington, and great great nephew, Zaviun Berry of Huntington. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sharon Kay Lassley; and his nephew Daniel K. Hawley.
