Kathleen McVicker Riley, 95, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 2:48 am, Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Wellbrooke of Wabash. She was born on December 13, 1930, in Somerset, Kentucky, to Melvin and Lola (Tarter) Tarter.
Kathleen first married James P. McVicker on December 13, 1947, in Somerset, Kentucky; he preceded her in death on September 15, 1984. She later married James “Jim” Riley on June 8, 1991, in Oakridge, Tennessee, and he passed away on August 16, 2023. A devoted and longtime member of the Wabash Church of the Nazarene, Kathleen lived a life centered on faith, family, and creativity. She found joy in sewing, crocheting, and painting-creating several cherished oil paintings over the years. Above all, she treasured being a homemaker, pouring her love into the family she held so dearly.
She is survived by two daughters: Susan Lambert of Ossian, and Beverly Ann Adams of North Manchester, Indiana; four grandchildren: Greg (Jamie) Lambert of Markle, Indiana, Heidi Ramsey of Kokomo, Indiana, Chad (Emily) Lambert of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Stephanie Lambert of Destin, Florida; and seven great-grandchildren: Maddi, Kate, Cole, Gavin, Sydney, and Saige Lambert, and Shelby Ramsey; and great-great-granddaughter, Jayna Mason. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Raymond Tarter, Fred Tarter, and Gene Tarter, and three sisters; Lurene Garst, Jewel Hall, and Nina P. Pretorius.
