
Dorothy M. Davis, 90, of Marion, passed away at 1:26 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Marion Health in Marion. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on Saturday, January 4, 1936, to Eddie and Minnie (Fields) Davis. On April 23, 1976, she married the love of her life, Walter Davis.
Dorothy graduated from Marion High School and worked as a housekeeper with Hampton Inn. She was a member of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, Eastern Star, and on the usher board at Rising Star Baptist Church. She was always cheerful with a smile on her face. She was always hugging and loving on people. She crocheted, sewed, knitted. She was a great cook and could make amazing banana pudding and caramel cake.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Davis of Marion; daughter, Phalye I Davis; sister, Jean Thomas; 8 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Minnie R. Davis; two daughters, Clarissa M (Marty) Mills, and Lewanna Yvonne Davis; and son, Antonio Davis.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Stanford Bolden officiating. Burial will take place at Grant Memorial Park.
