Joshua Randall Rhoads, 47, born to G. Randall Rhoads and Kim (Brown) Rhoads Jacobs on October 5, 1978, and his son, Owen Randall Rhoads, 15, born to Joshua and Abigail (Frank) Rhoads on February 2, 2011, entered the Arms of Jesus together.
Josh married Abby Frank May 20, 2006 in Wabash. They brought three beautiful boys into the world in the same week first in 2011, then 2013 and lastly in 2016. Leading his family to build a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ was his highest priority and ultimate joy. Josh received his Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from Defiance College, where he also played basketball. He worked in the real estate property tax industry since 2004 spending the best of those years with DuCharme, McMillen, & Associates. He was the Vice President of Operations and led a team of property tax professionals across the United States and Canada. Josh held a CMI designation from the Institute of Professionals in Taxation and a CRE designation from the Counselors of Real Estate. Outside of work and family time, Josh loved doing CrossFit and playing basketball. He was a gifted athlete, but his character and humility are what really shined during any competition.
Owen was Josh and Abby’s first born, welcomed into the world on Feb 2, 2011. He was an old soul, from being a calm newborn to a humble, level-headed teenager. Owen attended Acton Academy at Fall Creek in Pendleton, IN and often asked to go to school early to spend extra time with his friends. He loved building with Legos, playing sports with friends and was a voracious reader and writer. Owen enjoyed caring for dogs as a side job, was able to interact with children of all ages with ease, and looked forward to his church youth group every Sunday. He delighted in irritating his brothers, but also making them laugh.
Josh and Owen regularly attended Hamilton Hills Church with their family and were welcomed into the gates of Heaven together.
They are survived by their family, Abby, Isaac, and Asher, Kim (Ray) Rhoads Jacobs, Renee Frank, Amie (Brian) Murphy, Stacie Parrett, Brad (Kayla) Frank, Kevin Jacobs, John Boardman, and Glenn Brown. They were preceded in death by Randall Rhoads, Rod Frank, Marilyn Boardman, Marlyn Brown, and Tiffany Frank.
Visitation for family and friends will be 10:30-11:30 am Friday, September 25, 2026, with a service at 12:00 pm, at the Heartland Church, 14900 126th Street in Fishers, IN 46037. There will also be a visitation 12-2:00 pm Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, IN 46992, with a graveside service at 2:30 pm at Falls Cemetery, in Wabash.
