William R. Stephens, 89, of Marion, passed away at 12:10 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Autumn Ridge Rehabilitation Centre in Wabash. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Saturday, April 10, 1937, to Irvin and Lectie (Perkins) Stephens. He married Frances D. (Steelman), who survives him.
He worked as a pattern maker with General Motors. He was a member of the Marion Elks Lodge, Mississinewa Valley Corvette Club, and attended Grace Community Church. He loved his corvette and his house.
William is survived by his wife, Frances D. Stephens of Marion; daughter, Pamela Stephens; step-son, David (Qin) Joy of Carmel; step-daughter, Nancy (Steve) Hannah of Fishers; step-grandchildren, Nick (Danielle) Joy, Lindsay (Jason) Joy-Wenning, Justin (Katie) Hannah, Melissa (Jon) Vogt, and Christopher (Sophia) Hsu; and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Lectie Stephens; sister, Berniece (Jack) Spradlin; and son, Robbie Stephens.
At William’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
Burial will be at a later date.
